Obituary

Yvonne Marie (Buneo) Baranowski was called home to be with our Lord on August 24th, 2023, after a long debilitating illness. Yvonne was born in Lowville Hospital on April 27th,1953 to Frances and John Buneo, Port Leyden, NY. She was the second oldest sibling of five. She is predeceased by her parents and brother Ronald. Yvonne had a happy childhood growing up on her parents’ dairy farm. She attended Port Leyden Central School, and finished her high school education at South Lewis School when it was first built. Yvonne played the flute and was a member of the Port Leyden Marching Band. After graduation, Yvonne attended the Utica School of Commerce for a degree in Business. She worked for a brief time in Boonville, NY and then joined the United States Air Force on June 27th, 1973 until January 28, 1977. During her time in the Air Force Yvonne was able to travel, with Hawaii being one of her favorite trips. It was in the Air Force that she met her future husband, Donald Baranowski, of Milwaukee, WI. Yvonne and Don were wed on October 18th, 1975 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Port Leyden, NY. They made their home in Camden, NY. As her children got older, Yvonne studied and received her LPN degree. Later after her fourth child started school, Yvonne took a position as a Teacher Assistant in the Camden Central School District, working in McConnellsville and Camden Elementary Schools. She worked with children with special needs and gave her same devoted and kind heart to the students she worked with as she did to her own children. Yvonne and Don retired to Goodyear, AZ when their children were grown. Yvonne enjoyed traveling, reading, crafting and spending time with her family. She had the kindest, quiet disposition and was always ready to help anyone in need.
