She departed this earthly life at the age of 88, surrounded by loved ones to join her heavenly Father. Shirley was born October 28, 1935, to James and Aurilla (Russell) Brickwell near Oxford, WI. She married Arthur Anacker on May 15, 1954 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Portage WI. Survivors include her husband Arthur, her siblings Joyce Crawford, Russell (Pat) Brickwell, Celia (Pete) Johnson, her children Gary (Deb) Anacker, Amy (Al) Hartman, Jim (Beth) Anacker, Julie Reseburg, Marie (Jay) Kroll, Laura (Kurt) Weber, Joel (Kim) Anacker, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Aurilla Brickwell, her brothers-in-law Gerald "Whitey" Hohn and Donald Crawford, Ronald Anacker, Willard Ellis, her sisters-in-law Loraine Ellis, Shirley Beumer, her son-in-law Jeff Reseburg, and granddaughter Gretchen Reseburg. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Shirley exemplified the biblical principles of love and selflessness within her family. Her home was a sanctuary where faith flourished, and her nurturing spirit created an environment of warmth and acceptance. She actively supported her husband's ministry and brought care, compassion, and love to all the churches he served. As we grieve the earthly departure of Shirley, we take solace in the assurance she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith has become sight, and she has received the promise of eternal life. A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 31, 2024 between 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Kratz Funeral Home Portage.
