Obituary

Michael Bradley Schill, age 53, died peacefully on the evening of June 24th, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on September 19th, 1968 in Green Bay, WI. Michael was a 1987 graduate of Poynette High School but he always said the greatest educational experience of his life came from his epic impromptu road trip to Florida with his best friend David Schmid. Prior to graduating high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served from August 1987 to August 1991. His home base was Camp Pendleton, California. He was also stationed in Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines. He had the honor of providing security at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. He was deployed to operation Desert Storm in January of 1991. He held the rank of Corporal at the time of his honorable discharge and earned the following commendations: • Sea Service Deployment Ribbon • Good Conduct Medal • National Defense Service Medal • Letter of Appreciation • Riffle Sharpshooter Badge In 1997 he married Wendy (Jones) Schill and together purchased a very small house. Michael was an exceptional craftsman and for the next 20 years turned that house into a masterpiece. He was always willing to help out with home improvement projects for his family. He was a hard worker all his life, he never asked for help and overcame anything and everything that stood in front of him. Michael was also a proud uncle. He loved to play chess with his nephews Bryan and Isak. His nieces and nephews all knew that when UNCK was around, there was sure to be a lot of goofiness. An adrenaline junkie, Michael also loved to push his body to its limits. His hobbies throughout his years included HS football, barefoot water skiing, surfing, body building, scuba diving, wind surfing, rock climbing, and snowmobiling. Later in life he was an avid golfer and in 2019 checked off his bucket list item of golfing 18 holes under the midnight sun in Iceland wearing pink narwal slippers. Michael is survived by his wife Wendy of 25 years, his parents Gregory and Carol Schill of Arlington, siblings Susan Schill, Steven Schill (Shannon) and Sara Schill (Sigurdur Sigmarsson) and many nieces and nephews. Michael is preceded in death by his nephew Bryan Andrew Schill, niece Ashley Michelle Schill, and father-in-law Robert S Jones. A celebration of Michael’s life will be announced at a later date.
