PORTAGE Dolores Eloise Ramme (Mollard) Jan. 3, 1930 - October 28, 2023 Dolores E. Ramme (Mollard), of Portage, passed away on October 28, 2023, in Wausau WI. She was born on January 3, 1930, to William and Annie (Eichelberger) Mollard of Ironwood, Michigan. She attended Ironwood's Central Grade School and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School as Salutatorian in 1947. She married William R. Ramme on October 16, 1948. They were married for 63 wonderful years. Dolores had a beautiful soprano singing voice and enjoyed singing on the radio and in choirs. After marrying William, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they had 3 children. Later Bill and Dolores moved to West Bend, Oxford, and then Portage. Dolores was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and continued her membership as she moved from Michigan to the various vicinities in Wisconsin. In Portage she was a member of the Portage United Methodist Church. She worked in banking and for many years at J. C. Penney company in Milwaukee, West Bend, and Portage, retiring from the latter. Dolores and Bill loved their grandchildren and when they retired, the children enjoyed summers exploring the woods and gardens on their hobby farm in Oxford. Dolores and Bill loved to travel with family and visited many states and faraway places (Englan d, Scotland, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Czech Republic, Israel, Panama Canal region, Cayman Islands, Antigua, Aruba, and Bahamas). Over the years, she enjoyed her phone calls with her grade school friend, Ceci which gave them time to reminisce growing up in Ironwood, MI. Dolores is survived by her son Bruce (Linda) Ramme, Okauchee; daughter Gail (Todd) Benz, Portage; four grandchildren, Adam (Joy) Ramme, Oconomowoc, WI, Katie (Brad) Kennedy, Wanamingo, MN, Austin (Brigit) Ramme, Coralville, IA, Mindy Benz, Kodiak, Alaska, five great-grandchildren, Gunner, Johnathan, Clara, Levi and Lily; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mollard; close childhood friend, Cecilia Kovacevich, Venice, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Bill, Dolores was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen, (May 18, 2010), brothers, William and Raymond Mollard; and sisters, Mildred Andrews, Lorraine Johnson and June Letteer. Services will be held from Friday November 10th from 2:00 to 3:00 pm with the service starting at 3:00 pm at the Portage United Methodist Church, 1804 New Pinery Road Portage. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, 1000 North Hemlock Street, Ironwood, MI, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Bill. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Kratz Funeral Home, 302 E. Conant Street, Portage.
