Brian David Calhoun, age 64, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, after hitting a deer with his motorcycle. He was born on July 2, 1958, in Rockford, IL, to Bette Jane and Darwin (Pete) Calhoun. He grew up in Loves Park, IL, and spent summers with his grandparents, Ernest & Marjorie Swanson in Loretto, WI. He loved snowmobiling, fishing, camping, trap shooting, boating and wood working – his neighbors, friends and the surrounding Amish community called on him for help when ‘anything with a motor’ needed repairing. He was happiest when he was on his snowmobile at full throttle across a frozen lake. He always had to break trail (leaving everybody in his powder). He had a spirit that attracted animals and children and never left the house without a hug and a kiss from his wife. He worked as a diesel technician at Truck Country of WI for 31 years. He is survived by his wife Jody (32 years), Mother Bette Calhoun, sister Shireen (Tom) Altemus, sons Dan (Erin) Calhoun and Peter (Nicole) Calhoun, and grandchildren Maggie, Travis, Derek and Autumn. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. On Thursday, November 10, 2022, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage, Wisconsin. Pastor Jamie Benson and Chaplin Dan Pulsfus will be officiating. Public Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to time of service at 11:00 a.m.
