Birdine O (Horn) Finch

Birdine Horn Finch, 100 years young, passed away at Grandview Healthcare Center in Blair on Friday June 24, 2022. She was born December 21, 1921 to Oscar and Bertha (Petra Beata) Ramsey Horn on the Horn Homestead in rural Ettrick where she still lived. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1938 and then attended La Crosse Teacher's College. She taught in Hixton and Melrose grade schools. In June 15, 1946 she married Basil Finch and they were married nearly 61 years until his death in 2007. Birdine is survived by her daughters Jane of La Crosse, Mary Jo (Mike Mitley) of Stoddard, daughter-in law Darlene of Hudson, Ten grandchilderen, numerous great and great-great grandchilderen, that she so loved and enjoyed, sister Beverly Peterson of Hatfield and brother-in law Corneille Church of Corte Madera, CA. Preceding her in death were her husband Basil, a son John, son-in-law Joe, brothers Richard and Gaylord, sisters Adella, Delores, Lois and Barbara, and great-great granddaughter Skyla. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Wednesday June 29, 2022 at North Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick where Birdine was a life long member and that her grandfather help build. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the church and one hour prior to the service.
