William "Bill" Bletsch, age 89 years passed away April 16, 2014 after a 3 year battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on November 25, 1924 in Chicago IL to William and Ida (Kahler) Bletsch. Bill moved permanently to Merrimac and his beloved lake home in 1971. He was a corporal in the Army Air Corps and served as a teletype repair specialist in the 9th Air Force England during WWII. He was also a member of the VFW Post #7694 in Sauk-Prairie. Bill was a man of many words and always had a story or joke to tell. He is survived by his children, Terry (Debbie) Bletsch of Minneapolis MN, Bill (Lisa) Bletsch of Merrimac, Steve (Marcia) Bletsch of Merrimac and Janet Thomas of Poynette, 5 Grandchildren, Kaleb (Abby) Timberlake of Colorado, Erica Bletsch (Matt Brush) of Milwaukee, Kellen (Alissa) Bletsch of Prairie du Sac, Jenna Bletsch of Prairie du Sac and Desmond Bletsch of Minneapolis MN, Great Grandchildren, Fox Pettitt (16) Gabriella Bletsch (3) Tucker Timberlake (2) and soon to be born Reese Bletsch, and last but not least his Beloved Dog Juice. He was preceded in death by his loving and fun wife Ethel (Celing) Bletsch. A Celebration of Life party will be held on April 26th from 12-5 at the VFW in Prairie du Sac. A light lunch and refreshments will be served.
