Virgil "Bud" W. Weyh, 78, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away Dec. 9, 2010, after enduring multiple strokes. He was born Aug. 28, 1932, the son of Virgil and Paula Hageman Weyh. Virgil was born and raised in Portage and lived with his aunt and uncle Floyd and Lucille Weyh during his high school years. Several years later he moved to Illinois and worked as a driver for Schneider Lines. Then he retired to Arizona in 1994. During the past few years, Virgil vacationed in Alaska and Hawaii with his cousins. This completed his lifelong dream of traveling to all 50 states. He came back to Wisconsin for several months a year to enjoy working on the family farm and visiting family and friends. He is survived by four children, Pamela (Kenneth) Hammond of Sun Prairie, Bruce Weyh of Wisconsin Dells, Patricia (John) Dilley of Pardeeville and Brian (Linda) Weyh of Fithian, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeremy) Janisch, Emilee (Shane) Nottestad, Katrina (Philip) Smith, Sandra (Luke) Moulis, Theresa (Ryan) Balsiger and Travis and Nicole Weyh, Illinois; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Madeline, Jackson, Ty, Ella, Brody and Hayden; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Alex and Tylor; and Keri (Doug) Stech, thought of like a daughter, of Illinois; three brothers, Earl (Mary) Weyh of Portage, Jerry (Brenda) Weyh of Fond du Lac and Russell (Kathy) Weyh of North Carolina; and one sister, Mary Louise (Gary) Smith of Portage. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with Rev. Barbara Bolz officiating.
