CROSS, VIOLET L.    Portage    Violet Louise Cross, age 94 years, of Portage died on Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Columbia County Health Care Center in Wyocena. She was born on February 14, 1918 in the Town of Caledonia to Charles and Anna (Breisemeister) Kent.    Violet was united in marriage to Lyle Cross on June 22, 1939 in Poynette; he preceded her in death on July 22, 1968. She was a homemaker, housekeeper, enjoyed gardening and embroidering and spending time with her kids and grandkids.    Survivors include her 2 children - Harold (Linda) Cross of Pardeeville and Lori Cross and friend - Kermit Simonson of Portage; 4 grandchildren - Kelly (Brian) Andrews, Randy Cross, Troy (Nicky) Cross and Mitchell (Tina) Cross; 5 great grandchildren - Austin, Brandon & Spencer Andrews and Josie & Chance Cross; and 3 brothers - Carl (Ruth) Kent of Waukesha, Herbert (Shirley) Kent of Manitowoc and Robert (Gloria) Kent of Milwaukee. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, son - Ron on April 11, 2009, daughter in law - Helen of December 12, 1998, 2 brothers - Edward and William, 3 sisters - Twin, Rose McQueen, Lilly Meredith and an infant sister.    Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with Randy Wruck officiating.
