Vickie Elaine Lawless, age 53 years of Portage, died on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and 2 dogs after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 26, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Harold and Irene (Short) Dean. Survivors include her Husband - Jeff L. Lawless SR; 4 Children and 7 Step-children - Jamie Lawless, Jody (Rusty) Wenzel, Julia (Tim) March and Jason (Sonja) Lawless, Lynn (Travis) Thompson, Jeff L. Lawless JR, Judith (Gabe) Stark, Joseph (Donna) Lawless, Jennifer Phillips, Rhonda Knight, and Sandra (Stu) Miller; 2 Brothers - Bud (Judy) Dean and Harold (Gale) Dean JR, 3 Sisters - Delores (Bill) Leavitt, Shirley (Chuck) Swisher and Beverly (Steve) Pilger; Grandchildren - Anthony, Elijah, Alex, Jordan, Chad, Dylan, Hunter, Dale, Glenn, Willie, Tiffany, Courtney, Jasmine, Steven, Dustin, Austin, Austin, Isiah, Raquel, Saundra, Derek, Cory, and Dustin M.; Great Grandsons - Lucas and Nathan; many nieces and nephews and her boys' - Archie and Chico and many close dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother in law - Loretta, father in law - Bob Thode and brother in law - Bill Leavitt. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 6 PM at the CrossPoint Assembly of God, Portage with Rev. Victor Hillestad and Rev. Randy Mantik co-officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 5 PM until 6 PM. The family wishes to thank Divine Savior Infusion girls, Stacy, Ginger and Carolina; Dr. LoConte and Dr. Longo and staff as well as hospice nurses, Kristi and Abby for the wonderful care in her final days.
