Verle was born in Blair, WI to Omar and Alice (Holde) Austad. He graduated from Blair High School in 1951.

Funeral Services for Verle will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Blair Lutheran Church in Blair, WI. Scott Brown will be officiating. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blair, WI
