Obituary

Ted Barton Portage, WI   A full life. That is all that any of us can hope for.  Ted Barton left us July 30, 2015 after more than a decade of battling cancer. He has lived that full life.  He cared most about us, his family and his friends. Yes, he was the consummate fisherman & hunter, but in many ways it was more a means to bring us together than the actual sport. He was a Korean War Veteran. He always cared  about those who struggled, ready to lend attention to those in need. The world lost a special man today, a man steeped in humanity.   Ted is survived by the love of his life Sandy, his wife of 57 years, and their children Susan (Jay) Mork, Terry (Michael) Barton-Smith, Michael (Julie) Barton and Bobbi Jo (Kane) Tracy. Ted most loved his grandchildren, seeking to pass on his love of life to them. Each held a special place in his heart and he will always be in theirs. All, including Joshua (Crystal) Mork, Rachel (Dustin) Persson, Dru (Makeba Boykins) Smith, Tatiana Smith, Jessica (Chad) Hoff, Michael Barton II, Cody Barton, Ivy (Nick Cassity) Barton, Elizabeth, Jackson and Audrey Tracy, and great-granddaughter Madison Hoff are ready to carry on in his love. Ted is further survived by his brother Daniel (Joanne) Barton and two sisters Barbara (Merle) Holmes and Faye Molitor. Many other family and friends have been touched by Ted, too many to mention here, but all in our hearts. Ted was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Barton, mother Adeline Barton, step-mother Rose Barton, brother Harold "Guy" Barton and nephew Brian Barton.   A celebration of Ted's life will begin with a visitation on Friday August, 7, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home-Portage.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage with Father Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at church. Inurnment will take place following the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Briggsville, WI. Service Details. Visitation
