Shirley Ann Smith age 80 of Portage, WI formerly of Platteville, WI died on Wednesday September 2, 2026 at the Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI

Shirley was born on March 7, 1946 in Platteville, WI to Robert and Helen (VanNatta) Beyer.

Shirley is survived by her children Sheila (Bob) Hellwig; Deb (Pat) Carnitz and Larry (Erin) Weier. Eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Survived by her three sisters Betty (Jerry) Waydick; Nancy (Paul) Bendorf; Sherry Paulus. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her family and special friend Tom and her partner in crime JoAnne.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday September 10, 2026 at the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage, Wisconsin.

A Memorial service with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cornelia, WI will be held at a later date.
