Shirley Jean Koenig, age 68 years of Oxford, died on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Tivoli Care Center in Portage. She was born on March 17, 1945 at the Town of Scott family farm to William and Augusta (Rahn) Rohde. Shirley was united in marriage of July 11, 1981 in Portage to Donald Koenig. She has lived in the Oxford/Briggsville area for many years where she had worked at the canning factory in Cambria, Photo Studio in Wisconsin Dells, cashier at the Pick n Save in Portage and as a cashier at St. Vincent De Paul in Wisconsin Dells known as the "Hat Lady". Shirley was an avid Packers, Badgers and Brewers fan, enjoyed birds, sewing, latch hook rugs and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Donald of Oxford, 4 children, Jeannie (Gary) Moss of Pardeeville, Gregory Carpenter of Sheboygan, Tracie Tischer of Oxford and Faeanne Terpstra of Portage, 10 grandchildren Tristra, Joe, Jenna, Ben, Danielle, Ryan, Aaron, Christopher, Ashleigh and Skye, 6 great grandchildren, brothers Roland (Florence) Rohde of Pardeeville, Kenneth (Annelore) Rohde of Beaver Dam, Darwin Rohde of Waupun and Donald Rohde of Cambria, sister Leona (Chuck) Schultz of Beaver Dam, special niece, Marianne Hollister of Buchanan, MI, special friend, Trudie Barton of Wisconsin Dells and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a step son, Donald Koenig JR. Funeral services will held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the North Scott Baptist Church, rural Pardeeville with Pastor Curt Coddington officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, rural Dalton. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 1 PM until 2 PM. As per Shirley's request, please wear Packer, Badger or Brewer apparel.
