Ronald Leo Donahue, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 23, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Dementia. Born on May 31, 1937, Ronald's life was marked by dedication, love, and an enduring spirit despite the challenges he faced in his final years.
Ronald proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, a testament to his commitment and sense of duty. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career spanning 45 years at AMPI, where he was respected and valued for his hard work and loyalty.
A man of rich passions, Ronald found joy in the great outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, and these pursuits became cherished traditions, especially the annual family fishing vacations to Canada. His adventurous spirit also included memorable yearly trips to Las Vegas with his beloved wife, Judy, a time they eagerly anticipated and enjoyed together.
His family remembers him fondly for his kindness and simple pleasures, such as always having chocolate ice cream at hand to satisfy his sweet tooth. These small joys reflected the warmth and care he brought into every facet of his life.
Ronald's proudest accomplishment was his marriage to Judith Tennyson on September 20, 1958, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Their lifelong partnership stood as a pillar of love and support, anchoring the family they built together.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy; his daughter, Lisa Zellmer, (Tom Schutz); and his granddaughter, Zoe Zellmer, brothers-in-law Jim Tennyson and Tom (Mary) Tennyson, and sister-in-law Nancy Schwenke, Pet Dog Libby.
Ron is preceded in death by his father Leo and mother Zeta Grunke and a son Michael
