Richard "Dick" Darvis Smith, age 70 years, died on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Divine Savior Healthcare. He was born on July 30, 1939 in Portage to Donald and Florence (Nitz) Smith. Dick has lived Portage most of his life where he worked for 28 years for United Parcel Service and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had also served in the United States Air Force for over 4 years. Survivors include daughter, Dana Smith of Monona, WI; son, Daron Smith of Milwaukee; sister, Jeanne Niemeyer of Oxford and 2 brothers, Steve (Linda Auger) Lamphear of Delray Beach, FL and Loren (Sherry) Lamphear of McFarland. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother - Terrance Lamphear and brother in law - George Niemeyer. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with Rev. Blake Overlien officiating.
