Raul Anthony "Tony" Bermejo, age 59 years, died on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his residence. He was born on September 2, 1954 in New York City to Raul and Mary (Fernandez) Bermejo. Tony has been married to Christi MacDonald for over 37 years. They returned to the area in 1992 to care for family. Tony was a long term employee of Krouscup Electric, proud of his airframe and power plant mechanics license and enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, loved the ocean & the gulf and had a strong devotion toward his family. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a life time member of the National Rifle Association. He had a devotion to Christ that was seen in his one on one work with alcoholics and drug addicts. His desire was to see the lost come to Christ and gain a new way of life which was done in gratitude for what the Lord has done thru him. Survivors include his loving wife of over 37 years, Christi of Portage and a daughter, JoEllen (Jacob) Bermejo-Goldsberry of Evansville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at the River of Life, 104 West Franklin St, Portage on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bob Turner officiating with military rites to follow by the Portage Area Veterans. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 1 PM to 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior's Program. Service Details. Visitation
