Paul R. Vesely passed away on May 9, 2017 at home.  A lifelong resident of the Portage area, he was born on March 25, 1945 & was a PHS graduate - Class of '63.  Paul married his high school sweetheart, Claudia Grabman & together, they raised 3 children:  Todd (Brenda) Vesely, Tori (Robert) Prew, & Jason (LeeAnn) Vesely. Paul was an avid outdoorsman, "expert" fisherman, lifelong trapper & was a Trapper Education Instructor for the DNR.  He enjoyed gardening & was a fixture at the Portage Farmer's Market.  An amateur vintner, he won 1st place for his Raspberry wine at the 2016 Wisconsin State Fair.  Paul was a member of the Wisconsin Trapper's Association, Portage Boat Club, & Prairie Home Vintners. Paul is survived by his wife, Claudia; his children; grandchildren; sisters, Lois Rethard & Gail Eckel; nieces & nephews; & many, many friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie (Wilcox) and father, Roger Vesely. The Family wishes to thank the staff at Agrace Hospice for their loving care.  A gathering to remember Paul will be held at a later date in honor of his wishes.
