Orris Dean Cook, age 86 years of Dalton, died on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Our House in Portage surrounded by his family. He was born on August 11, 1924 in Pardeeville to Elmer and Lucille (Atkinson) Cook. Orris was united in marriage to Donna Mae Louise Staab on October 2, 1948 in Beaver Dam. He has lived in Pardeeville for 35 years, Columbus for 20 years and the past 10 years in Dalton. Orris was a steam fitter for Local 601 in Milwaukee, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and shooting pool. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Donna of Dalton, 4 Children - Candice (Michael) Slette of Fort Jones, CA, Curtis (Cathy) Cook of Rio, Jeffrey (Christy) Cook of Winnemucca, NV and Norman (Karen) Cook of Ashville, NC; Daughter in Law - Judy Cook of Portage; 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son - Terry, brothers - Carroll and Harland Cook and a sister - Florence Heaps. According to his wishes there will be no services at this time.
