Portage, WI Olive M. Baker age 94 died on Friday April 29, 2016 in Tivoli in Portage, WI Olive was born on April 18, 1922 to Orrie and Lottie (Barton) McDonald and grew up on the family farm. She was the fourth oldest of seven brothers and six sisters. Olive spent most of her childhood working on the family farm and every once in a while she would "raise a little heck". She also had a beloved dog that was a lab mix named Topper Moonlight Baker. She married Clarence (Huncie) Baker on October 31, 1965 in Las Vegas. Olive and Huncie were known by many for their beautiful vegetable and flower garden. Olive also enjoyed reading books and traveling. She has been all over the United States and lived in California for fifteen years. She says "you can learn a lot about life while traveling; you learn some of life's best lessons". Olive was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Portage. Olive is survived by her sisters; Iris Brigham of Madison and Barbara (Darwin) Wolfgram of Portage; her brothers, Donald (Myra) McDonald of Georgia and Phillip McDonald of Portage; a sister-in law LV Baker of Portage; a brother-in-law Richard Nelson of Portage and many nieces, nephews and friends. Olive was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Jane, Sheila, Agatha(Mickie), and Patricia. Her brothers, Orriel, Maurice, Angus (Tom), Chester and Mathew. The family would like to thank the staff at Tivoli Nursing Home for their many years of caring for Olive. Private committal service will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Portage.
