Norman F. Scholes, age 90 years, of Monona and formerly of Portage, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 at his home in Monona. He was born in mineral Point on July 6, 1919, the son of Robert and Pearl (Edwards) Scholes. He was united in marriage to Stella M. Larson on June 23, 1943 in Briggsville. He served in the United States Navy. Norman worked in Sheet Metal work and retired in 1982. After retirement he spent 20 years in Florida, returning to his home in Wisconsin in 2002. His hobbies included visiting old train depots, wood crafting and history. He is survived by his wife, Stella, and two children Jim Scholes and Marilyn Lehman of Madison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Oretta Cruger. Burial will be held in Moundville Cemetery, north of Portage at a later date.
