Nickolas Schumann, age 96 of Portage, Wisconsin died Sunday, May 4, 2014. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Portage with Chaplain Tom Moe officiating. Burial will follow at the North Marcellon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Nickolas was born November 4, 1917 in LeMoyne, Ohio. In July of 1962 he married Evelyn Bartels. Nickolas worked for many years as a crane operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his Brittany spaniels. Nickolas is survived by a son, Robert Schumann of Toledo, Ohio; daughters, Patricia Tolbert of Greenfield, Ohio, Judith Rucki of Toledo and Dorothy Schrank of Westfield, Wisconsin; a stepson, George "Butch" (Lucia) Cross; 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; stepdaughter, Frances Kratz; 3 great grandchildren; and sons in law, William Tolbert, William Rucki and Arnold Schrank.
