Nathan J. Schutz age 52 of Portage Passed away on April 23, 2025, at his residence in Portage, WI.

Nathan had been having medical issues for the past few years that were progressively giving him poor health.

Nathan was born on November 1, 1972, in Portage, WI to Larry and Vada (Nitz) Schutz. He graduated from Portage High School in 1991. He attended the North Dakota State College of Science.

Nathan started employment at Piggly Wiggly while in school, then Loberg Ford, Saint Gobain and for the last 18 years at Petro Travel Plaza in Portage.

Nathan is survived by his father Larry (significant other Joyce Oehlhof), aunts and uncle Loraine (Larry) Gapinski. He is preceded in death by his mother Vada, and both sets of grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, in the Kratz Funeral Home; 302 E. Conant St. Portage, WI. Rev. Dave Hankins will be officiating. A public visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery located on highway AA, 9 miles west of Portage.
