Nadine Louise "Minnie" Hemler, age 58 years, of Portage, died on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Divine Savior Healthcare. She was born on October 25, 1950 in Portage to Edward and Bonnie (Schmudlach) Malisch. She graduated from Portage High School in 1968. Minnie was united in marriage to Roger Hemler on May 17, 1974 in Portage. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, worked at Culver's in Baraboo and enjoyed antiquing, collecting cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include - Husband - Roger of Portage; 3 children, Maria (Kevin) Ward of Baraboo, Evonne (Robert) Warren of Portage and Richard Hemler and friend - Suzi Yenchesky or Portage; 5 grandchildren - Jerry and Stephen Ward and Cheyanne, Robert and Richard Warren; 1 sister - Sylvia (John) Cross of Portage; and a nephew - Scott Preuss of Portage. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 6:00 PM at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with Rev. Alan Boeck officiating. Burial will be held on Friday at the Silver Lake Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 - 6 PM.
