Melvin Harold Hoffer, age 95 years, of Portage died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Tivoli of Divine Savior in Portage. He was born on December 29, 1915 in Portage to Lewis and Eva (Willett) Hoffer. Melvin was united in marriage to Mae Annis on May 6, 1936 in Portage, she preceded him in death on April 24, 2010. He was a Brew Master for Eulberg Brewing Company for 22 years, then worked at Double Cola Bottling Company and was a maintenance man for Portage High School for 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, flowers and woodworking. In his later years, he could be found sitting on the loveseat holding his "lover's" hand. Survivors include 3 Children - Robert (Marie) Hoffer of Portage, Marvin (Phyllis) Hoffer of Fort Atkinson and Kathy (Bob) Cuff of Portage; 10 Grandchildren;10 Great Grandchildren; and Brother - Clyde Hoffer of Portage. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a Daughter - Darlene Packard and a Brother - Clifford. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.
