May Gladys Best, age 86 years, of Portage died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Heritage House in Portage. She was born on December 1, 1923 in Portage to Otto and Helena (Moll) Kuhn. May worked at Badger Ordinance and then worked at AMPI for 16 years before retiring. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, flowers and going to the farm. Survivors include 3 Children - Raymond Wiser of Dalton, Kathy Culver of Baraboo and Randall (Myra) Best of Portage; 3 Grandchildren - Jennifer (Dean) Miller, Josh (Carla) Best and Nicole Best; 2 Great Grandchildren - Kalli Best and Danica Miller; Dearest Niece - Debbie Ann Becker; Great and Dearing Friends - Verona Gray and Tim Carlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Portage with Rev. Dan Kelm officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcellon Cemetery, rural Pardeeville. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 AM until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Home Health United Hospice.
