Mary Betty Jane Sewell, age 91 of Portage, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.   The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage with Father Gary Krahenbuhl celebrating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.   Betty was born February 4, 1923 in Portage, Wisconsin the daughter of Walter and Eileen (Roesling) Warren. She attended Portage schools and later St. Mary's Nursing School. In March of 1945 she enlisted in the U.S Army and served as a nurse achieving the rank of 2nd lieutenant. She was honorably discharged in June of 1946. In January of 1947 she married Lyle Sewell. She worked as a nurse at Divine Savior Hospital for many years and her nursing instinct was always sharp, often diagnosing any ailments people shared with her. Betty was lovingly called "Honey" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She could light up the room with her laugh and she enjoyed reading and watching soap operas. Also important in her life was her faith in God and reciting the rosary.   Betty is survived by her children, Steven (Sue) Sewell of Deerfield, Wisconsin, Richard (Sue) Sewell of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Sandy (Bill) Saroukos of New Port Richey, Florida; a sister, Patricia Johnson of Portage; grandchildren, Josh, Joel, Ashley, Nathan, Lindsey and Angelo; and great grandchildren, Ethan, Erik and Jaycee. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.   In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the church would be appreciated. Service Details. Visitation
