Mary Jane Radant, age 80 years, of Portage, died on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage. She was born on February 10, 1929 in Portage to Edward and Mary (Hill) Paske. Mary was united in marriage to Melvin Radant on April 5, 1947 in Portage; he preceded her in death on February 14, 1997. She had worked at Marv's Shoe Store, Columbia County Courthouse Microfilm Dept, DHIA Milk Testing and as a cook for the Portage public school system. Mary was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Women's Guild and Altar Guild. Survivors include 4 children - Leta (William) Chadwick of Westfield, Allan (Verna) Radant of Portage, Ronald (Kristi) Radant of Portage and Richard (Melanie) Radant of Rogue River, OR; 6 Grandchildren - Jeremy (Jess) Radant, Lisa Radant, Jacob Krueger, Justin Krueger, Elijah Radant and Domineque Radant; 3 Step Grandchildren - Michella (Jon) Bernt, Curtis Gibeaut and Travis Gibeaut, 2 Great Grandchildren - Gabriel and Sarah, 1 Brother - Charles Paske of Portage, 2 Sisters - Darlene Schultz of Wisconsin Dells and Sandra Hubbard of Rockford and other friends and relatives. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother - Edward III and a Grandson - Brian. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Portage with Rev. Alan Boeck officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Portage.
