Mary Ann Teresa Carman, 73, died peacefully in the presence of family on December 10, 2015. She was born on November 29, 1942, in Cuba City, WI to Alphonse and Myra Dietzel and was raised in Dickeyville, WI.  She was the youngest of eight children.Mary Ann attended high school in Milwaukee and received her nursing degree from Marquette University. She received her master's degree in nursing from UW-Madison. She was married to Anton Carman on August 20, 1977 in Portage. Mary Ann dedicated her life and career to helping others in the healthcare field. She worked at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage for 30 years, starting in the E.R. and completing her time as the director of Staff Development.  She continued her career as the PM nursing supervisor at Waunakee Manor.Mary Ann had a truly bright spirit and was loved by many. She was a natural caretaker, as shown by her work and continuous efforts to help family and friends. She lived her life caring for others and touched many lives as a nurse and in her personal life. She loved to travel and loved spending time with family and friends and made every holiday, birthday, and other events very special. She was always very thoughtful of her loved ones. Mary Ann is survived by her step-daughter Andreya of Madison, WI; son Philip of Sycamore, IL;  daughter Sara(Ryan) Fritz of Middleton, WI; and a new grandchild, Lukas. She was preceded in death by her husband.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, December 18, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage.
