Marlys J. Jennings age 79 of Black River Falls, WI / rural Ettrick, WI was born on July 10, 1945, to Otto and Marian (Stone) Busse in Whitehall, WI. Marlys passed away on Friday January 31, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.
Marlys grew up in rural Ettrick and was a graduate of Melrose High School. On April 25, 1964, she married Robert (Bob) Jennings, and they had 2 children, Michael and Pamela. After marriage they moved to Cary, IL. Where Marlys was a receptionist at a dental office and insurance company.
Marlys was an avid reader and a part of many book clubs, loved flowers and gardening, enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. Marlys taught herself how to play the piano by ear. She sang in the church choir and was part of the South Beaver Creek Church council.
Marlys adopted many rescue pets and loved to travel.
Marlys is survived by her son Michael Jennings, daughter Pamela Dagen (Victor Revolinski). Grandchildren Jonah Michael and Carly Jane Dagen, Brother Darwin (Jane) Busse and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Marlys is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, brother and sister-in-law Preston (Evonne) Busse, sister and brother-in-law Darlene (Robert) Sennett.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at the South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church with Rev. John Ashland officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the South Beaver Creek Church Cemetery.
