Marie Alice Hoffer age 81 of Portage, WI died on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Aspirus Tivoli Community in Portage, WI.

Marie was born on March 23, 1943 to Berwyn and Alice (Getshmann) Ableman.

Marie married Robert Hoffer on September 16, 1961 in St. John Lutheran Church in Portage, WI

Marie enjoyed quilting, sewing and tending to her flowers. Her greatest love was her family. Many will remember Marie as a crossing guard for several years, always with a smile.

Marie is survived by her two daughters, Kim (Dale Hemberger) McCourtney of Minneapolis, MN and Debra (Elek) Nagy of Portage, WI. Marie has two grandchildren, Ashley Farr and Kristen Griffey and a great grandchild Ava Griffey. Surviving is her brother Bill Ableman of Seattle, two sisters Lisa Shadel of Pardeeville and Alice Ableman of Minnesota.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and a brother Stephen Ableman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Portage, WI. A visitation will also be on Friday from 9 until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In
