Mae Henrietta Hoffer, age 92 years, of Portage, died on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage. She was born on June 5, 1917 in Glenrock, WI to Charles and Lily Mae (Kaatz) Annis. Mae was united in marriage to Melvin Hoffer on May 6, 1936 in Portage. She had worked for AMPI in Portage for over 25 years. Mae also enjoyed gardening, flowers and yard work. Mae kept very busy cleaning her home, but always had time for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, giving much love and time. In her later years, she could be found sitting on the loveseat holding her "lover's" hand. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Melvin of Portage; 3 children - Bob (Marie) Hoffer of Portage, Marvin (Phyllis) Hoffer of Fort Atkinson and Kathy (Bob) Cuff of Portage; 10 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren and Half Sister - Goldie Espland of Caledonia, WI; and brother in law - Clyde Hoffer of Portage. Besides her parents, she was preceeded in death by a daughter - Darlene Packard, a brother - Gilbert Annis and 3 sisters - Rosie Lentz, Nellie Iverson and Sophie Reichenberger. Private family funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.
