Lucille "Lucy" Marie Devine-Ellis, age 86 years, of Portage, died on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on November 12, 1923 in Fairfield Township, Sauk County, WI to Arthur and Helena (Koepp) Paske. Lucy graduated from Portage High School. On April 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to Joseph E. Devine at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Portage; he preceded her in death on April 9, 1968. She married Willard Ellis in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Lucy was a homemaker and farmwife, loved the country, loved nature, feeding birds, and gardening. She served on the Lewiston Township Election Board for many years and was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include 3 Children - Patricia Devine of Madison, Kathleen (Robert) Santiel of Mesa, AZ and Joseph (Patti) Devine of Fitchburg; 3 Step-Children - Elton (Gladys) Ellis of Briggsville, Arnold (Denise) Ellis of Wisconsin Rapids and Anita Ellis of Beloit; 16 Grandchildren, Numerous Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren; 5 Sisters - Dorothy Christofferson of Waunakee, Beverly (Donald) Schultz of Black Earth, Mae Smith of Waunakee, Joan Paske of Dallas, TX and Rosemary Kluever of Middleburg,FL; Sisters-in-Law - Ann Detert, Velma (Harold) Gaffney and Marge Ellis; Brother-in-Law - Roger (Mary Ellen) Ellis. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings - Emma Seymour, Arthur Paske, Herman Paske and an infant brother; step daughter - Karen Robinson; sisters-in-law - Delilah Koch, Elizabeth Reuben and Sarah Morse; and brothers-in-law - Stanley Ellis and John Ellis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Portage with Father James Murphy and Father William Nolan co-officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage on Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until 11 AM.
