Obituary

LeRoy Dean Beck of Blair, Wisconsin passed away of pancreatic cancer Saturday, October 7, 2023 at home under the care of Gunderson Hospice. LeRoy was born March 9, 1945 to Leonard and Irene (Trones) Beck in Black River falls, WI. LeRoy grew up on the family farm rural Franklin Township, Taylor, WI. He enjoyed hunting; fishing; gardening; canning; playing dice and working with his hands making wood crafts. LeRoy attended the Franklin County School, Jackson County for grades 1-6 and attended Melrose School 7-9th grade. He worked for Lutz Builders, Melrose, WI for 21 years and Gaier Construction, Black River Falls for 30 years. Married Kandace Olson on September 17, 1977 and they had one daughter, Jennifer. Kandy passed away March 3, 2006. LeRoy is survived by his daughter Jennifer Hicks; grandchildren Nolan and Amelia Hicks, Holmen, WI; his son Paul Beck of Chippewa Falls, WI. further survived by siblings Alice Rae (Dan) Nelson, Darien, WI; Darwin (Anita) Beck, Taylor, WI; Larry (Barb) Beck, Taylor, WI; Charles Beck, Blair, WI; Roseanne (Greg) Totten, Black River Falls, WI and Michael (Susan) Beck, Taylor, WI; as well as extended family. Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, and wife Kandace. Visitation and time of remembrance will be held at Friendship First Community Center 419 South Urberg Ave, Blair, WI from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday October 13, 2023. Burial at Rest Haven cemetery, Blair, WI. Light lunch to follow. Kratz Funeral Home- Portage (www.kratzfuneralhome.com) is assisting the family with arrangements.
