June Anderson Portage, WI June was born on December 10, 1931, the daughter of David and Alvina (Fredrick) Burton. She grew up in Portage where she attended school and graduated in 1949. She married Del Anderson September 26, 1953 in the New Port Church in Wisconsin Dells. They lived in Virginia for two years while Del served in the U.S. Army. When they returned to Portage, June worked for a time at the Portage Hosiery and at Ray-O-Vac. After retiring, she worked part time for the Commission on Aging. She enjoyed visiting her daughters and their families and liked doing crafts and most of all she loved reading. June was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Portage. She is survived by her two daughters Darcy(Dan) Anderson-Barker in Tempe Arizona and Cindy(Rick) Pretsch in Milwaukee Wisconsin along with two granddaughters Dani Barker of Tempe Arizona and Christina (Pretsch) Sutton in Albuquerque New Mexico. June was preceded in death by her husband Delbert Anderson, her sisters Opal Hamele and Katherine Hinickle and brother, Arthur Burton. Funeral service will be held Thurs., May 24th at 11am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Portage. Rev. Greg Hovland will be officiating. Visitation is from 10a.m. until time of service. A luncheon will be held following the interment at 12:30pm at the Best Western Hotel in Portage. The family invites you to join them.
