Julie Ann Hynes, age 60 years, died on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Tivoli at Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage. She was born on October 25, 1951 in Rochester, MN to Donald and Betty (Kriehn) Paulsen. Julie grew up in the Rochester area where she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1970 where she was active in theatre production. She then graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Scandinavian Studies. Julia was united in marriage to John "Jack" Hynes on June 16, 1973 in Rochester Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. She has lived in Apple Valley, MN, St. Paul/Minneapolis area and has lived in Portage, WI since 2006. She had previously been a church secretary at South Canyon Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD. Julie enjoyed traveling, reading, outdoors and camping. Survivors include her husband - Jack of Portage; mother - Betty Paulsen of Rochester; son - Peter (Sarah) Hynes of Woodbury, MN and a brother - John Paulsen of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN with Rev. Annjanette Rist officiating.
