Julia Plier passed away peacefully January 3, 2026 at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin after a long illness.

She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Roy and Hope (Smith) Bersie. Julie was a kind and caring person – who was loved and respected by many.

Julie spent her childhood summers in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin where she developed lifelong friendships and memories. She held those memories close to her heart for her entire life.

She attended Carol College in Wisconsin and Robert College in Istanbul.

Julie became a highly respected Lexicographer, and she was recruited to work in many places around the world.

In retirement, Julie enjoyed gardening and loved growing vegetables of all kinds. She also spent many hours walking in the woods around her home, where she enjoyed the simple wonder and beauty of nature.
