Jon Andrew Nelson age 53 of Portage, WI died on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Unity Point Health-Meriter in Madison, WI. Jon was born on October 30, 1970, in Portage, Wisconsin to Floyd and Nancy Nelson. He attended St. Mary's Catholic school and graduated from Portage High school in 1989. He furthered his education by attending UW Madison and UW Superior where he received his degree in Education. Jon Married Stacie Andrew on August 14, 1993. Jon loved his family, he enjoyed chatting with his online friends on IRC, occasionally playing the piano. He enjoyed mathematics and astronomy as well as science fiction series such as Star Trek. Jon is survived by his wife Stacie, two children Brie (Hiro Yano) Nelson and Jared Nelson. Eight siblings: Michael, Robert, Tammy, Sharon, Greg, Anthony, James and Angelica. Jon is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Nancy Nelson, infant sister Karen Marie, and his father-in-law Ned Andrew. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage, WI. A public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. till time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the St. Mary Cemetery in Portage, WI
