John "Jack" L. F. Simon, age 69 years, of Portage, died on Thursday, January 7, 2010 in Portage. He was born on July 11, 1940 in Horicon to Lewis and Talke (Renken) Simon. Jack has lived in Portage most of his life where worked for Columbia Generating for 18 years and had previously worked as a foreman for Weyenberg Shoe Factory. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Survivors include Daughter - Kathleen (Steve) Mael of Portage, Son - Mark (Carol) Simon of Green Bay, 10 Grandchildren - Eric & Matthew Simon, Nichole, Jamie & Katelyn Mael, Stephanie & Rebecca Simon, and Brian, Cory & Scott Forbis; 2 Sisters - Lelani (Jerry) Franke of Beaver Dam and Laurel Tabyck of Beaver Dam. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son - Ken on February 1, 2009. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 12 Noon at St. John's Lutheran Church, Portage with Rev.
