Portage/Baraboo John Henry Hartman age 89 passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 after long years of Diabetes and Dialysis. The second oldest of four children, he was born in Fish Trap, Wisconsin to Vern Tillman Hartman Sr. and Cecelia Delia (Vasser) Hartman.When John was three the family moved to Rhinelander, WI. at twelve his family moved to Elgin, IL at the end of the Depression.  Shortly thereafter they moved back to Wisconsin where they farmed in the Oxford area. At the end of World War II, John went into the United States Army where he was from 1945 to 1947. After the war John met and Married his first wife Betty (Phillips) and were blessed with a son Myron. A few years later he met and married his second wife Goldie (Waddell) and were blessed with five children; Julie, John, Steve, Sharon and Gary. Several years later he married June (Tinkham) and three more grown children were added; Susan, Ricky and Cindy.  John worked as a factory worker, mechanic and his last career was an over the road truck driver. John was lovable to anyone in his presence even when sick, john was full of love laughter and joy. John is survived by son; Myron (Sharon) Hartman of Henderson, NV; son Gary (Linda) Hartman of Milton, WI; Daughter Sharon (Mike) Curtin of Escanaba, MI; Daughter Julie Hartman of Portage; son John (Glenda) Hartman of Lyndon Station, WI; son Steven Hartman of Colorado Springs, CO; step daughter Susan (Lee) Emmer of Pittsville, WI step son Ricky (Kim) Melvin of Baraboo, WI; step daughter Cindy (Greg) Blackly of Grafton, WI; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren a sister in law Marie Hartman; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.John is preceded in death by his parents Vern and Cecelia, an infant sister, brothers William and Vern Jr. and wives Betty, Goldie and June.The family would like to thank Golden Living in Randolph and Waupun Dialysis for all their care and love for John during his years of illness. Also would like to thank Marie Hartman for her dedication in visiting John three times a week while in the nursing home. A memorial service will be on August 27, 2016, a place to be determined.
