Joe Paul Lanier, age 69 years, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at his residence. He was born on October 28, 1942 in Grand River, Kentucky to Clyde and Eula (Stafford) Lanier. Joe was united in marriage on March 22, 1975 in LaGrange, IL to Patricia Morgan. He had lived in the Chicago area before coming to the Montello area in 1989 and permanently moving here is 1995 and worked for the Westfield Machinery and Manufacturing Company. He enjoyed fishing, reading, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and especially enjoyed his family. Joe had also served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1962. Survivors include his loving wife - Pat of Montello; 3 children - Joseph Lanier of Chicago, Michael Lanier of Endeavor and Kevin (Jess) Lanier of Poynette; 9 Grandchildren; Brother - Richard (Mona) Lanier of Decatur, IL and a Sister - Vickie (Anthony) Stewart of Crofton, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother - Rob. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 4 - 7 PM at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with a brief service to be held at 6:45 PM. Service Details.
