Obituary

Jo E. Joslin, age 45 of Wisconsin Dells passed away Monday September 5, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. She was born June 6, 1966 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the daughter of Leland Merrill and Patricia Wilcox. Jo grew up in a horse family, to say the least. Jo and her family were involved in horse sales, breeding, training, showing, public riding stables, rodeos and track racing. She managed two family riding stables at an early age and later worked for the largest riding stable in Wisconsin Dells, before eventually purchasing the stable and operating it for 10 years. Jo next turned to horse sales from our farm just a mile south of Big Spring, close to Wisconsin Dells, where she was known throughout the state as a person to turn to for a nice gentle kids horse or family horse. Her biggest joy in life was trail riding and camping with family and good friends. Jo was a member of the Lake Mason Lions Club for many years. Jo was married to Peter Joslin on October 7, 1989 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. She is survived by her husband Peter; mother Patricia Wilcox of Baraboo; mother and father-in-law Ron and Joanne Joslin of Tucson, AZ; daughters Casey (fiance Tony Clark) Walker of Reedsburg and Annie Smith of Ponca City, OK; son Eric (Ashley) Peterson of Madison; sisters Kristie (Steve) Bauman of Oxford and Lisa Premo of Mauston; brother Pat (Amy) Merrill of Medford. Jo is also survived by half-sisters Patsy Rhinehart of Baraboo; Lyla (Dave) Orrito of Kenosha; Jackie (Junior) Barbee of Claremore, OK and Robin (Sam) Smith of Ponca City, OK; half-brothers Pace Merrill of Baraboo; Dan Pagel of Lake Delton; John (Kenda) Pagel of Fennimore; grandchildren Jacey, Kyle and Kase and a very special friend of the family Mae Ketelboeter of Sauk City. She was preceded in death by her father Leland Merrill, half-sister Jane Pagel; and granddaughter Kenzie. There will be no service at Jo's request. Service Details.
