Jean M. Greenwood, age 91, passed away on November 26, 2025, in Portage, Wisconsin.

Jean was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Kenneth and Julia (Hand). She worked for the Wisconsin State Public Defender's Office in Madison and Baraboo for many years.

Jean enjoyed dancing, gardening, her many cats, and the years she spent living in Green Lake and WI Dells with her life partner, Don Pelkey. After Don's passing in 2002, Jean moved to Portage to be closer to family.

In retirement, Jean treasured time with family and friends. She loved reading, planting flowers, shopping, going out for dinner and caring for her beloved pets.

Jean is survived by her sister, Karen Ferry; two daughters, Kelly Stahl (Larry) and Kathy Schroeder; three grandchildren, Joshua, Nicole, and Andrew; seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Shawn, Levi, Ivy, Jasmine, Owen, and Pim; and her niece and nephew, Jennifer and Tom.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Julia Greenwood; her life partner, Don Pelkey; her brother-in-law, James Ferry; and her granddaughter, Amanda.

Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

At Jean's request, there will be no formal service.
