Jarrard Leigh Law, age 34 years of Portage (formerly of Carroll County, IL) died tragically while skiing in Colorado on Saturday, February 15, 2014.  He was born on December 6, 1979 to Joan (Getz) and Robert Law in Freeport, IL.    Jarrard was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Savanna, IL and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Portage, WI.   He was a 1998 graduate of Portage High School and earned a degree in Computer Information Systems from Madison Area Technical College in Madison.  For the past twelve years, he was employed by CESA 5 working as a computer technician for the Necedah Area School District.  Jarrard was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church serving as an usher and communion assistant.  He enjoyed skiing, biking, hiking and many other outdoor activities.   Survivors include his parents, Joan and David Cassellius of Portage, significant other, Ashley Spafford of Portage, sister, Carey (Christopher) Sang of Victoria, MN, 2 brothers, Monty Cassellius of Eau Claire, WI and Kelsey (Diane) Cassellius of Scarborough, Maine, 2 nieces, Hannah and Ainsley Sang, 4 nephews, Sam, Ben, Will and Chase Cassellius, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.   He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jacob and Thelma Getz, Blendon and Geneva Law, Thelma McCall and Clarence and Loretta Cassellius.   Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Portage with Rev. Dick Inglett officiating.  Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 3 - 6 PM.  Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Center Hill Cemetery, rural Mount Carroll, IL.  Family and friends can meet at the First Lutheran Church, 301 South Clay St., Mt. Carroll, IL at 10:45 AM to process to the cemetery, a luncheon will follow the committal back at the church.   In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any pictures of Jarrard.  Service Details.
