James Morris Sainsbury, age 82 years, of Endeavor, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on December 29, 1928 to Max and Ida (Grover) Sainsbury. Jim was united in marriage to Emma Mael on May 26, 1950 at the Portage Methodist Church. He has lived in Portage, Janesville for 34 years and Endeavor since 1989. Jim worked for the City of Janesville and at the Chrysler Plant in Belvidere for 25 years. During retirement he enjoyed being a school bus driver for Portage. Jim also served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Survivors include Wife - Emma of Endeavor, 3 Daughters - Darlene (Michael) Ellefson of Viroqua, Dawn (Al) Augenstein of Janesville and Donna (Dave) Stratton of South Milwaukee; 1 Son - Dale (Patricia) Sainsbury of North Manchester, IN; 9 Grandchildren - David, Alicia, Dana, Debra, Angela, Makayla, Jim, Madeline and Daniel; 7 Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters - Joyce Paske of Portage, Nova (Ken) Kyburz of East Troy, WI and Reva (Darwin) Barron of Endeavor; 1 Brother - Max Sainsbury of Portage and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a Daughter - Diane Bowers, a Brother - Herb and a Brother in Law - Lester. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 1:30 PM at the Moundville United Methodist Church, Endeavor with Rev. Barbara Bolz officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at the Moundville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage on Saturday from 4 - 8 PM and at the church on Sunday from Noon until 1:30 PM.
