Helen Olive Stone, age 79 years, of Portage, died on Friday, December 4, 2009 at her residence after a battle with cancer. She was born on October 6, 1930 in New York to Joseph and Myrtle Morris. On January 31, 1959, Helen was united in marriage to William Stone in Chicago. Helen was a secretary for the Chicago Fire Department for many years before moving to Portage area about 20 years ago. Survivors include her husband - William of Portage; sister - Eleanor Morris of Binghamton, NY; brother in law - Bruce (Linda) Stone; nieces and nephews, William (Victoria) Stone and Julie (Greg) Roskopf; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister - Mary. Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 7:30 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Portage with Rev.
