Obituary

Frank George Mossa JR age 94 died on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Northview Gardens on his birthday. He was born on January 25, 1919 in Shamokin, PA to Frank and Angela Mossa.   Frank was united in marriage to Frances Manella on April 23, 1938 in Chicago; she preceded her in death on April 27, 1997. He joined the United States Army in August 1942 serving until November 1945 where he was a military police receiving 3 Bronze Battle Stars. After returning he moved to Portage where he worked for the Weyenberg Shoe Factory for many years, later volunteered at Columbia County Health Care Center in Wyocena for at least 10 years and has been a resident of Northview Gardens for the past few years.   Survivors include a half sister Mary Bem of Denton, TX and a very good friend Mary (Richard) Jansma-Keller of Berlin. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Portage with Father Jim Murphy officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until 11 AM.
