Heaven has welcomed a very special person home.  Frances Marie Collins (Johnson) age 94 died peacefully Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at her home in Portage, Wisconsin. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 West Cook Street, Portage with Father Gary Krahenbuhl celebrating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. A lifelong Portage resident, Frances was born on October 1, 1920 to Carlton and Mary (Lueck) Johnson.  She was born and raised in Lewiston Township near Briggsville. Her parents built and ran the original Johnson's Inn which stood where Cimaroli's is now. She was united in marriage to Francis (Frank) William Collins on May 4, 1946. Frances worked at the Portage Hosiery for over 30 years. She was a Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary serving as President for several years. Surviving Frances are two sons, Doug of Portage and Joe (Shelly) of Milton; daughters, Kathy Bishop of Alabama, Diane (Tom) Stein of North Freedom, Mary Benson of Portage and Janet (Gary) Schoppenhorst of Endeavor; 20 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Feith of Wisconsin Rapids and Phyllis Collins of Madison.  Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank and infant son, Dennis; four infant grandchildren, and five brothers, Harold of Waupun, Wilbur of Pardeeville, Dallas from Lewiston Township, Chester and Russell of Portage. Frances and her Family would like to thank all the Caregivers at Tivoli, Divine Savior Hospital, Hospice and Dr. Pineda for their kindness and care during her illness and transition.  Her wish was that all your kindness and care return to you as blessings for you and your loved ones.
