Florence Dorothy Sutfin, 79 years of Portage passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. She was born on February 13, 1933 in Hepler, Kansas to Charles and Amanda (Kroenke) Grannemann. Florence grew up in Hepler, Kansas before attending Concordia College, then accepting a kindergarten teacher position at St. John's Lutheran School in Portage. She was united in marriage to Gordon Sutfin on July 17, 1954 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Florence also worked as a receptionist at Divine Savior Hospital and later at the Pauquette Center. She enjoyed square dancing, ceramics, playing cards, gardening and loved her dog "Rusty". Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years Gordon of Portage, 4 children Dave (Janet) Sutfin of Portage, Kathy (Michael) Kuhl of Portage, Mary (David) Lehman of Portage and Mark (Jean) Sutfin of Neillsville, 11 grandchildren Tom, Matt, Heather, Crystal, Amanda, Kaitie, Kelsey, David, Amy, Jaimie and Brian, 11 great grandchildren, 1 brother Ben (Clara) Grannemann of Hepler, Kansas, 3 sisters Ella (LaVerne) Bockelmann of Pittsburgh, Kansas, Irene (Warren) Schooley of Walnut, Kansas and Helen (Vic) Geihsler of Elmhurst, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Selma (Hank) Rediger. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Portage with Rev. Dan Kelm officiating. Burial will be held later at Oak Grove Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage on Sunday from 1 - 4 PM and at the church on Monday from 10 AM until 11 AM. "We miss that light, and always will.
