Obituary

Evadene Eunice Dolgner, age 87 years, of Portage died on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Mundth Haven Adult Family Home in Wisconsin Dells. She was born on October 23, 1923 in Portage, the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Miller) Messer. The youngest of 8 children, she spent her youth and teen years on the Fox Glen Farm in Caledonia, WI. On February 12, 1944, Evadene was united in marriage to Elvin Dolgner at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Portage; he preceded her in death on September 30, 2001. They farmed in Lewiston and raised 2 children. Evadene was most happy playing cards, going to garage sales, antiquing, and taking care of her grandchildren. Survivors include Her Children, Darlene (Jimmie) Bizzle and Larry (Sue) Dolgner, all of Madison; 4 Grandchildren - Lana (Jeff) Nelson, Kim Baker, Shelly (Ron) Dettwiler and Robert Dolgner; 8 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; Brother in law - Robert (Arlene) Dolgner and Sister in law - Angie Erdman; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Portage with Rev. Alan Boeck officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Care Hospice.
